Glance-and-go glucose awareness while you drive

SugarDrive is a small dashboard display showing a Dexcom glucose number and trend arrow in your line of sight — without picking up your phone.

Built for parents driving a child with Type 1, and for Type 1 drivers.

What you get, what we ask

  • A SugarDrive display, free, and yours to keep
  • These are the last units offered at no charge
  • Local to Winona or La Crosse? We’ll hand it to you. Otherwise about $10 shipping

In return we ask that you set up the app, confirm your glucose data is flowing, use the display regularly, and answer a five-minute check-in after your first week, then monthly at most.

SugarDrive is not a medical device. It doesn’t alarm, and it doesn’t replace your CGM alerts or your own judgement. Don’t manage treatment while driving — pull over.

Check these before you apply

Most setup problems we’ve hit come down to these four. If any is a no, SugarDrive won’t work for you yet.

  1. An iPhone. Android isn’t supported yet.
  2. A Dexcom G6 or G7 on a US account. Libre and other CGMs aren’t supported yet.
  3. Your Dexcom login works, and Sharing is on with at least one follower. Dexcom only sends live data when someone is following, and SugarDrive signs in with the login for the account the sensor reports to — for a child’s sensor, the child’s login, not yours. What SugarDrive needs from Dexcom covers both checks and takes a couple of minutes.
  4. You’re willing to install the app through TestFlight. It’s Apple’s own app for trying pre-release apps — nothing exotic.

Ready to take SugarDrive for a test drive?

Let’s see if it works for you.

Request SugarDrive to Test
Optional. Only used to send your TestFlight invite and the occasional check-in. No marketing.
SugarDrive currently requires an iPhone.
SugarDrive currently works with Dexcom only.
Your Dexcom login and Sharing both have to be working before SugarDrive can see glucose. What SugarDrive needs from Dexcom explains both checks. For a child’s sensor, it is the child’s Dexcom login, not yours.
Worth sorting out before you apply.

SugarDrive signs in with your Dexcom login, and Dexcom only releases live data while at least one follower is connected. Until both are in place, a display has nothing to show.

What SugarDrive needs from Dexcom walks through both — a couple of minutes. You can finish this form once they are done.

TestFlight is Apple's own app for trying pre-release apps.
Optional. For example: 2018 RAV4, dashboard vent.
Optional, and short is fine.
SugarDrive doesn’t support Android yet.

The app is iPhone-only for now. Leave your name and email above and we’ll let you know if that changes — no need to answer anything else.

SugarDrive works with Dexcom only.

It reads shared Dexcom data, so it can’t show readings from other CGMs yet. Leave your name and email above and we’ll tell you if that changes.

What happens next

  1. We review your answers and send you a TestFlight link.
  2. You install the app and enter your Dexcom login.
  3. You confirm glucose is showing in the app.
  4. We arrange pickup, or ship your display.

No display is sent until the app is working. That one step is what keeps setup short for both of us.
